WordPress has released a new version of its popular Blog software. The new version is intended to fix issues in the XML-RPC remote publishing interface which under certain circumstances allowed Author- and Contributor-level users to improperly edit, publish or delete posts.

In default installation, remote publishing is disabled.

Remote publishing allows the authors to publish the stories to the blog by using remote publishing client such as Windows Live Writer or one of the WordPress mobile apps.

This new version is available from WordPress’ download page.
