Kana Reminder
What are the registry entries created by Kana Reminder?
Question:
What are the registry entries created by Kana Reminder?
Answer:
The following registry entries will be created when you run Kana Reminder:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kana Solution\Kana Reminder
This registry entry was created when you run Kana Reminder for the first time. This entry is checked every time Kana Reminder is started, and recreated if it is not present. Currently, only one key is available inside this entry. The key records version number of the Kana Reminder currently running. Although this key is not used right now, it may be used in the future, for example to check for updated version. - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\Run
This entry is part of the operating system function. All keys inside this entry will be run when Windows starts. If you set Kana Reminder to start with Windows, one key on this entry will be belong to Kana Reminder.
Note:
When you uninstall Kana Reminder by using Add/Remove Program applet from Control Panel, those keys and Kana Reminder entry (the earlier entry on two of the above entries) should be deleted. If you uninstall it manually, you can delete those key manually or leave it there.
If you have strange problem after uninstalling Kana Reminder, please check if you have Kana Reminder key inside HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\Run entry. If you do, delete that key.
